For those who do not know, Officer Will Rider is a member of the Tyler ISD Police Department. He currently works at Robert E Lee High School.
Will Rider was having some testing done at Mother Frances after having some difficulty for several days. He has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer in stage 3 and doctors believe it is also in the lymph nodes and has been there for some time. It is advanced and inoperable. He is making effort to go to MD Anderson for further diagnosis and treatment. Will is one of our own and his family does not have the funds that this cancer will cost to fight it the way it should be. Will is married with 2 children and is going to do his treatment in Tyler instead of M.D. Anderson in Houston due to the expense. Tyler ISD is coordinating with the Blue Knights to have a fundraiser for Officer Rider to help with the medical expenses. Any updates will be posted as soon as possible.
Please keep Will and his wife Angie in your prayers as they begin this tough time.
